Steven Reed

Spanish Teacher | T/TH

After spending his childhood in the arid deserts of New Mexico, his formative years on the Western Slope of Colorado, and several years traveling as a musician and minister, Steve and his family felt the Lord calling them to put down roots on the east side of Franklin, where they have now lived for the past 12 years. Steve and his wife, Shawn, have two sons, Taylor and Michael, who are both in college. Shawn serves as an orchestra conductor and contractor. Steve's passion for education began early in his career when his first position after graduating from college was serving as the principal of a private Christian school. From there, he went on to serve in youth ministry and now ministers as a guest speaker and worship team clinician. After sensing a call in high school to learn Spanish, Steve has spent considerable time ministering throughout South America. He has also recorded multiple music albums and translated several of his books into Spanish, extending his ministry to Spanish-speaking audiences. A lifelong learner and creative at heart, Steve is always picking up new hobbies. His current interests include authoring books, writing songs, automotive repair, and organic farming. Standing 6'6", Steve's taller than most, more coordinated than people often expect, loves teaching, and likes to think he's pretty funny.
