colleen.hunt@safeharborhybrid.comColleen is thrilled to be serving Safe Harbor for another year. Colleen began teaching as a high schooler helping out in Sunday School and never looked back! She earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Reading and Writing. After serving in a Reading First public school in Kentucky, her family moved to Tennessee. As their family grew, they turned to homeschooling to create intentional foundational moments, lean into hobbies, and really discover the world around them. The Lord called Colleen back into the classroom through a hybrid setting in 2020 and she has found this community to be a great gift. As a classroom teacher, Colleen is passionate about literacy and finds great joy in helping students discover a love of reading. Dedicated to fostering a nurturing and engaging classroom, Colleen creates an environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. She believes that strong relationships with both students and their families are the foundation of a supportive and successful learning community. Outside of campus, Colleen is often cheering her son on at golf tournaments or her daughters at cheer competitions. If time permits, she loves to read for fun. She also loves to collect stories of her very silly labradoodle, Bacon, to share with her class. Colleen is absolutely ready for the best year ever!
